Biography
Danielle Combs is currently an Assistant Professor of International Business in the Management Department of The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business.
Danielle’s research interests lie at the intersection of strategic management and international business. Specifically, Danielle conducts research examining the relationships between external institutional environments, firms’ foreign direct investment strategies, and firm performance. She also has a growing pipeline of corporate governance research that investigates the implications of various CFO characteristics and board composition on firm strategies and performance.
Beyond research, Danielle has experience teaching courses on international business and foreign direct investment.
Danielle received her PhD in business administration, with a concentration in international business from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Gies College of Business in 2018. Prior to pursuing a career in academia, Danielle worked as a financial analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
Danielle is originally from Cleveland (Shaker Heights), Ohio and has a B.S. in business administration (finance major) from Miami University of Ohio and an MBA from Cleveland State University. In her spare time, Danielle enjoys reading, exercising (she is also a professional body builder), watching reality tv, and traveling with her husband Dominic.
