Teaching
Teaching Philosophy:
My main goal, as a teacher, is to make sure that my students leave my classroom everyday with something new that will benefit them in the academic, professional, and personal aspects of their lives. For example, a typical class session may include a discussion of relevant current events, a lecture and video about ethics in international business, and, in small groups, a case analysis of Apple’s ethical dilemma involving labor conditions in a Chinese factory. Keeping this goal in mind as I formulate each lesson plan helps me ensure that my students grow and develop throughout my course. My approach to teaching has helped me consistently earn strong teaching evaluations across courses at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Florida International University, and The University of Alabama. I use several pedagogical techniques to achieve this overall learning objective:
Relevant content and materials
Interactive learning
Knowledge of current events
Profession development
Awareness and appreciation for cultural diversity
High standards for academic achievement and growth
